Hello Blogosphere!

I’ve decided to create a blog to keep creative and busy in the new year. While a moderately creative person (if I do say so myself), without something to keep me accountable I’ll become a Netflix engorged couch potato.

So this small piece of the internet will be a space for my thoughts on anything, but mostly food (a passion of mine), fashion/make up/outfits, working out (HA HA HAhahahaaaa), and anything else that catches my fancy.

I’ve got the power!

A small introduction to who I am: My name is Ally, I am a senior at the College of William and Mary. I am an avid, albeit amateur drinker, an English major of the Romantic variety, I love to bake, I try to cook, I am loud, an RA, an aries, and very family oriented. Small intro aside I have plenty of high fluted goals for 2015, most along the lines of working out and looking great, becoming a neat freak, and maybe maintaining some semblance of sanity. However, I do have some attainable goals, of which I have outlined below. (Read at own risk)

  1. “Let it Go”- Unfortunately (or fortunately) the sultry, dulcet melody of Idina Menzel’s vocals might be ringing through your ears currently, but alas, this song will be my mantra for this year. For those of you who know me and are brave enough to read this, I have many flaws, the majority encompassing control. I like to be in control, I like to know what’s going on, I’m a worrier, I let how others perceive me to affect me, etc. This year I am going to work on this. (Hopefully) By the year’s end, I won’t give a rat’s ass what people think, when people are rude I’ll laugh, and I’ll do whatever catches my fancy, wear whatever I want, and be a happier, less anxious person. (This goal might end up being under “high-fluted”.)
  2. “Blank Space”- I hope you’re imagining that attractive man prevalent throughout this music video, because I am. However, song references aside (this was unintentional to begin with but now I will continue with it) I am sick to death of losing touch with friends. Life is simply too short. This year I want to actually make plans, and keep them! I hate it when the new year comes around and I tick off yet another year where I have put off catching up with someone. It’s absolute bollocks. So when I have a blank space, I’ll pencil you in for some debauchery and fun, so that in 2016 I can look back on how many “old acquaintances” became “old friends”.
  3. “Happy”- Last resolution and last reference I swear. Originally this was going to be put under “Physical” but the earworm intensive song of “Happy” has simply infiltrated my mind; plus, I want to be happy in more senses than just physically. On that note, I am going to work out more this year. Thanks to my best friend Kendyl, who is my workout inspiration and motivator, I have begun the Bikini Body Guide, written by Kayla Itsines. I have also purchased a fitness pass to attend fitness classes at my college’s gym, where I conveniently also work. Exercise aside, I simply want to eat more healthily, be more active, and at the end of the day be happy and love myself more. It sucks that in today’s world this is such a difficult goal to achieve. This year I want to exercise my body, my mind, and my character. I am going to read more, write more, run more, and all around do more to a healthier, happier me.

We’ll see how the year goes. Or at least I’ll see how the year goes as my first statement assumes I’ll have followers this time next year. Ah well, it’s a nice hope to have. To anyone who reads this, (and everyone who doesn’t), Happy New Year! I hope your 2015 is phenomenal!
